Munich-Moosach: Three cars burned out – Munich

Three parked cars burned out in Moosach on Monday morning. As the fire department reports, they were alerted shortly before 11 a.m., partly because a column of smoke was visible from afar.

At the scene of the fire on Netzerstrasse, the emergency services found three vehicles in flames. According to the fire department, the fire threatened to spread to other cars as well as bushes and trees. A fire engine began to fight the fire using two jet pipes – but the 1,600 liters of water in the tank were not enough, so a hose line was laid from a hydrant.

When the fire was largely contained, the cars were opened with a hydraulic spreader and further extinguished with foam. In addition, the surrounding drains were sealed because oil and gasoline were leaking. The operation was over after about two hours, after surrounding buildings had been checked for smoke.

The police are now investigating the cause of the fire, as well as the extent of the damage. The fire department suspects that the fire spread so quickly that leaked gasoline was responsible.
