You could talk to James Blunt about good things, his emotional secret appearance on the TV show “The Voice Of Germany”. His tour, which is finally starting after the pandemic lull. Or skiing. After all, the British singer-songwriter is currently staying in Verbier, Switzerland, during the Zoom interview. He is a ski ace, in 2000 he was the giant slalom champion of the Royal Armored Corps. Blunt comes from a military family and grew up in barracks near Soest for ten years. It’s part of his PR legend that he strapped his guitar to the outside of his tank while he was fighting for NATO in the Kosovo war before he became a world pop star in 2005 with “You’re Beautiful”. Once a soldier, always a soldier? In view of the war in Ukraine, painful issues come to mind.
