Munich: Garden Munich, IHM, Craft & Design and Food & Life – Munich

Four trade fair areas, united under one roof. With one ticket you can be inspired by garden ideas, innovations in crafts, handicrafts and culinary delights.

To prepare for the first warm days, visitors can Garden Munich Collect inspiration for garden design from February 28th to March 3rd. The spectrum of exhibitors is diverse – there are barbecue accessories, flower bulbs, smart irrigation systems and garden sheds.

“Garten München” provides tips for gardening in small spaces, design ideas and support for garden planning. As part of the Heinz Czeiler Cup, young florists from ten companies will compete against each other on March 2nd in Hall C3. The participants should implement their view of spring with a bouquet, a floral object and table decorations.

There will be lectures and stage shows in cooperation with My beautiful garden offered. The author of the magazine and garden professional Dieke van Dieken gives an overview of garden plants that will be able to withstand changing climatic conditions in the future. A lecture provides information about the freshness and quality of cut flowers. And you can also get to know the Schrobenhausen asparagus queen.

Like the “Garden Munich” it also offers International Craft Fair (IHM) a platform for exchange and advice. At “Forum Das Haus” in cooperation with the magazine The house You can hear lectures on topics related to renovation, construction and modernization.

The IHM opened its doors for the first time in July 1949. It is now the most important trade fair in Germany and is celebrating its 75th anniversary. The fair reflects the importance and diversity of the craft. The focus is on the areas of living, kitchen culture, sustainability and lifestyle. Competitions and exhibitions complement the program.

In the “Young Generation” special and action show, young people can get to know different trades in the trades and find out more about everyday training. More than 20 craft associations and guilds present their trades there. As part of a careers rally, young professionals can try out different areas: forming metal roses for metal workers, finely crafted gold leaf imitations for painters, stone engraving for stonemasons or bending pipes for refrigeration technicians.

Another special show is the exhibition “Innovation Wins!”. Here entrepreneurs present inventions from different areas. The focus is on the topics of the future and progress. From the fully automatic butter pretzel smearing machine to the trunk for cargo bikes to 3D sand printing for architecture and gardens, creative ideas are presented here.

As at the “Garten München”, there is also a competition for young talent at the IHM. As part of the “Die Gute Form” design competition, the best craftsman’s pieces from the carpentry and carpentry trades are honored. The award ceremony will take place on March 3rd from 2 p.m. in Hall B2, Stand 606.

The trade fair runs parallel to IHM and “Garten München”. Craft & Design. Crafts and artistic designs are on display from Wednesday to Sunday. The trade fair takes place in Hall B3 Food & Life instead of. Delicacies, cooking classes for children and competitions are offered there.
