Fast help for frustrated passengers was needed – and supposedly it was found quickly. According to Richard Lutz, CEO of Deutsche Bahn, the “Strong S-Bahn” program is now to address what the second S-Bahn tunnel will not be able to do in the next 15 years due to the immense construction delay. But what is behind the program? It’s all very vague, according to the town hall. On July 26th there was a working level meeting. “Initial ideas” were presented, which “however need to be further specified and explained”, explains the mobility department. What exactly will be built when and who will pay for it? Shrugs from everyone. “Strong S-Bahn” remains only the local copy of the nationwide railway slogan “Strong Rail”.
