Munich: Boy falls in front of subway and survives uninjured – Munich

The fact that he had the presence of mind to crawl into the security room under the subway platform probably saved the life of a ten-year-old boy from the east of Munich on Friday afternoon. The dramatic incident occurred in the Innsbrucker Ring subway station on the U2 track towards Messestadt-Ost.

According to the police and fire department, the ten-year-old had been looking too intently at his cell phone and fell from the platform onto the track. At the same time, a subway train arrived and its driver initiated emergency braking. The boy was handed over unharmed to his father, who had been summoned. The track area was closed for an hour during the rescue operation.
