Katharina Kestler, Katharina Heudofer and Antonia Schlosser share their love for the mountains. A conversation about feminism in mountain sports and the fascination of the peaks.
Why mountains of all things – what fascinates you so much about them?
Antonia Schlosser: I sometimes feel like I had no choice but to love the mountains because I was born in Allgäu and lived there until I was 18. The mountain backdrop was always there, like a background noise. But I only developed a really intense love when I moved to Bamberg to study. Then I realized that I miss the mountains. It’s just my love of nature and the fact that I can switch off my mind when I exercise that brought me to the mountains.
