Mother of infant shot dead indicted for murder

Faced with tragedy, justice moves forward. The mother of an infant killed by bullets at the end of October in Milly-la-Forêt (Essonne) was indicted on Monday for murder of a minor under 15 years old and placed under committal warrant, but remains hospitalized in psychiatry, indicated Thursday the Evry public prosecutor’s office.

On October 25, the three-month-old infant, with a gunshot wound to the chest, was taken by his father to the Fontainebleau hospital (Seine-et-Marne). According to the prosecution, the little girl died “a few minutes after her arrival at the hospital”.

The father arrested, then released

After dropping off the baby, the man returned home explaining that he had to go take care of his injured wife, according to a police source. She was found seriously injured by gunfire in the evening near the equestrian center of Milly-la-Forêt (Essonne), where the couple lives.

The 54-year-old father and a 67-year-old friend who took him to the hospital were arrested and taken into police custody, before being released the next day. Finally, it was the 39-year-old mother who was placed in police custody, making use of her right to silence, the prosecution indicated, specifying that “given her state of health”, she had made the subject to psychiatric care.
