In recent months, Queen Elizabetz II has had to step down more frequently for health reasons. Now she received another guest in a personal audience.

After canceling her participation in an important service, Queen Elizabeth II has again given a personal audience.

Wearing a cream dress, she received the Guyanese poet Grace Nichols at Windsor Castle and awarded her a gold medal for poetry. In photos of the meeting, the 95-year-old Queen was seen without her cane, unlike some other appointments in recent weeks and months. On Tuesday she had already received her deputy from Canada, Governor General Mary Simon, and her husband Whit Fraser.

The Queen canceled her participation in the Commonwealth Day service last Monday – actually a fixed date in the monarch’s calendar – without giving any further reasons. In the past few months, she had to step down more frequently for health reasons. It is eagerly awaited if she will attend a memorial service for Prince Philip at Westminster Abbey on March 29.
