Oilers force playoff against Canucks

The Edmonton Oilers led by Leon Draisaitl, who was outstanding in the playoffs, have evened out the back-and-forth series against the Vancouver Canucks. Now game seven has to decide.
The Edmonton Oilers around the German national ice hockey player Leon Draisaitl have made it to the NHLPlayoffs against the Vancouver Canucks forced a playoff. The Oilers won game six of the series against the Canucks 5-1 (1-1, 2-0, 2-0) to level the score at 3-3 in the Western Conference semifinals.
Dylan Holloway, Zach Hyman, Evan Bouchard, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Evander Kane scored the goals for the Oilers. For Hyman, who was Edmonton’s top scorer in the regular season, it was the tenth goal in this year’s playoffs.
Star player Connor McDavid contributed three assists, Draisaitl two. The 28-year-old German leads the league in playoff scoring with 23 goals. In each of the Oilers’ eleven playoff games so far, he has been directly involved in at least one goal.
With a total of exactly 100 points in 60 playoff games, Draisaitl is also the third fastest player in NHL history to reach this mark. Only ice hockey legends Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux were faster.
Game seven of the series takes place on Tuesday night in Vancouver. With the Dallas Stars, the final opponent in the Western Conference has already been determined. The New York Rangers face the Florida Panthers in the Eastern Conference.
