Hamas accepts ceasefire proposal
Will the weapons in the Gaza Strip soon fall silent? Hamas has now agreed to the ceasefire proposal.
The Palestinian organization Hamas has announced that it accepts an Egyptian-Qatari proposal for a ceasefire. Hamas leader Ismail Haniya said this to the head of government of Qatar and the Egyptian intelligence minister on the phone, Hamas said. Israel initially did not comment.
Israeli withdrawal? Details still unclear
What exactly the proposal entails was not initially clear. Most recently, there was talk of a multi-stage plan that included the release of hostages and a withdrawal of Israeli soldiers.
