As of 2020, Megan Thee Stallion has been in a legal battle with her label. Now she is demanding $1 million in compensation.

The dispute between rapper Megan Thee Stallion (27) and her record label 1501 Certified Entertainment seems to have no end. As from court documents, available to “People” magazinethe 27-year-old is now demanding compensation of one million US dollars.

“For the past two years, Pete and 1501 have had a long and nagging history of disputes over Pete’s recording contract, including the inconsistency of the contract in its original form, as well as disputes over the release of Pete’s music,” attorneys at Megan Pete, which is Megan Thee Stallion’s real name.

Some of the disputes have been settled with the help of temporary injunctions. Now, however, a new dispute has arisen that “requires judicial support”.

Megan’s lawyers call the label ‘insidious’

The label had previously claimed the musician’s last two albums, Something for Thee Hotties and Traumazine, did not meet the minimum requirements of her contract. However, Megan Thee Stallion describes this contract as “unreasonable”.

A lawyer for the label stressed in an interview with the magazine: “We believe that she still owes us an album, at least.” Megan Thee Stallion’s lawyers are calling the label’s position “insidious” and an attempt to further “exploit” the Grammy winner.

Megan Thee Stallion originally filed charges against her record label in 2020. At the time, she claimed 1501 Certified Entertainment would stop her from releasing new music after trying to renegotiate her contract.
