SPD on Norderney – identity checks and barriers

According to the Aurich police, islanders and vacationers can notice “significantly more police presence” on the island. In some cases, traffic restrictions could occur due to closure measures. It is possible that the emergency services would approach or check people. Norderney’s mayor Frank Ulrichs (SPD) described the conference in advance as an “outstanding event”. The island is looking forward to the event “with excitement and joy”. The plan is for Chancellor Scholz and other members of the government to sign the Golden Book of the city of Norderney.

SPD conference: public services, welfare state and Europe in focus

With 28 MPs from Lower Saxony and Bremen and 49 MPs from North Rhine-Westphalia, the Lower Saxony/Bremen and North Rhine-Westphalia state groups are two of the largest SPD state groups in the Bundestag. The spring conference in Norderney will focus on public services, the welfare state and Europe. The chairmen of the state parliament groups are calling for, among other things, a new special fund. The state needs more money, not only for external but also for internal security, the chairmen write in a position paper. In addition, they are demanding more money for a strong welfare state, a competitive economy, a sustainable pension and a stable healthcare system. For this reason, the state group leaders also want to reform the debt brake, introduce a special levy for wealthy people and raise taxes on the very highest incomes.
