Mourning in the German comedy scene. As the Bild-Zeitung reported first, the comedian Mirko Nontschew died at the age of 52. Accordingly, the manager Nontschews confirmed the sad news and asked for consideration for the family.
On request, the police in Berlin only announced on Saturday that a 52-year-old man had been found dead in an apartment building in Berlin on Friday afternoon. and investigations into the cause of death had started.
His former colleagues Hugo Egon Balder and Wigald Boning were shocked by Nontschew’s death and commented on Twitter.
Nontschew, who has two children, was born in 1969 in what was then East Berlin, his father came from Bulgaria. After the reunification, Nontschew was initially active as a breakdancer. It was Hugo Egon Balder who then brought him to RTL. In 1993, Nontschew became a member of the comedy show “RTL Saturday Night”, which set new standards on television with its silly skits. At that time companions were, for example, Wigald Boning, Olli Dittrich, Tanja Schumann, Esther Schweins and Stefan Jürgens.
In 2001, Nontschew received its own program called “Mircomania” on Sat.1. Later he was also in the improvisation comedy “Frei Schnauze” on RTL, then in the Sat.1 comedy format “The brazen three”. In the noughties, Nontschew also played the dwarf Chakko in the films “7 dwarfs – men alone in the forest” and “7 dwarfs – the forest is not enough”.
In 2010, Nontschew told the German Press Agency that he once had to get used to being recognized on the street. “That was really new to me at the time and sometimes very exhausting. Sometimes I would like to have this anonymity that I have lost again,” said Nontschew at the time. In the years that followed, things became quieter for the comedian, but most recently Nontschew was involved in the show “LOL: Last one laughing”, which was developed by Michael “Bully” Herbig and is broadcast on the streaming service Amazon Prime.
The shooting for the new season planned for the beginning of 2022, in which Nontschew can be seen alongside colleagues such as Anke Engelke, Carolin Kebekus, Hazel Brugger, Christoph Maria Herbst, Abdelkarim and Olaf Schubert, was only recently completed.
