Manchester United: Erik ten Hag hints at further transfers in winter

Manchester United are apparently planning more squad changes in the winter.

According to Erik ten Hag, Manchester United will hold further talks about strengthening the squad in January and next summer.

After a poor start in the Premier League with losses to Brighton and Brentford, Manchester United have bounced back with five wins in their last six games. The only flaw was the home defeat against Real Sociedad in the Europa League.

Ten Hag will attend meetings during the international break in September to discuss next year’s transfer plans.

“It always makes sense to take advantage of breaks like this,” Ten Hag told MUTV. “We have a lot of meetings, we have to improve the structures in and around the club, we will do that.”

“We will also look at the window in January or next summer, but also improve our way of playing by making plans and of course we have to prepare for that in the coming period when every third day is a game.”

Despite the late summer signing activity that came with the arrival of Casemiro, United are still on the hunt for a new central midfielder after unsuccessfully bid for Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong.
