According to the police headquarters in Mannheim, a doctor alerted the police after the man left a psychiatric facility against his doctor’s advice.
A video shows the police approaching the man. He gestures and talks to them. Then one of the officers uses pepper spray. The 47-year-old runs away and is followed by the officers.
The emergency services finally set the man in front of a kebab shop. An officer beats him and then puts him in handcuffs.
This new footage, taken later, shows a civilian trying to revive the man. According to research by the star, this is apparently the doctor who called the police.
These new images are also from the scene. They show an officer who also performs a heart massage on the man.
The public prosecutor’s office in Mannheim is investigating the officers involved on suspicion of physical injury in office resulting in death.
