Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected again in parts of Germany on Wednesday. It is not just the areas previously affected by flooding that are affected. The maps below show where storms are brewing.
Also on Wednesday Storms are expected again in parts of Germany. The German Weather Service (DWD) issued a warning this morning that local showers and thunderstorms could occur in the morning and early afternoon from eastern Bavaria and western Saxony to northwest Germany. Heavy rain is expected to fall in isolated cases. During the course of the morning, the precipitation will shift northeast to the Elbe region. There is still a risk of heavy rain, and isolated thunderstorms are expected.
According to the DWD, thunderstorm activity will increase again from midday in northeastern Germany from Schleswig-Holstein to Lower Lusatia. Heavy rain, hail and gusts of wind can also be expected locally.
During the night into Thursday, the thunderstorms will move further to the northeast, and as the night progresses, the storm activity will gradually decrease.
