He did not survive his fall. This Tuesday afternoon, a 33-year-old man died after falling from the Hermitage belvedere, installed on the Butte Sainte-Anne in Nantes. Firefighters intervened to rescue the victim, shortly after 3:30 p.m., but failed to resuscitate her, said the fire and rescue service (Sdis) in a statement without giving further details. The police opened an investigation, in particular to determine if it was an accident or a suicide.

Installed in the summer of 2019, this spectacular belvedere in the shape of a stork’s nest offers a 36-meter-long walkway with free access, very popular with walkers. This work, signed by the Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata, rises to about 20 meters above the ground, overlooking the quai de l’Aiguillon.
