700,000 euros as part of the recovery plan
This Spanish investment will receive assistance of 700,000 euros as part of the recovery plan of some 100 billion euros planned to get out of the Covid-19 crisis. The factory is working on the renovation of the RER A trainsets and the construction of a locotractor for the RATP. CAF was also selected by SNCF for the construction of 28 Intercity-type trains.
To facilitate the development of the plant, Emmanuel Macron assured that the State would be “at the rendezvous” of the reopening of the railway line of about twenty km between Bagnères and Tarbes, for which the State is ready to invest 8 of the 20 million needed.
Continuation of the route in Lourdes
Emmanuel Macron is expected in the early afternoon in Lourdes, where he will meet with elected officials and tourism professionals, before being the first president of the Fifth Republic to officially visit the Sanctuary site.
The relaxation of health measures has allowed the return of the pilgrims, but the influx remains much lower than the pre-Covid years in the second hotel city in France after Paris, which depends 90% on tourism.
