Louise Bourrat autumn, free hot dogs with ketchup, Japan opens its house… The five stylish news of the week

Louise Bourrat feasts in autumn

After a first floral menu launched last spring, the winner of Top Chef 2022, Louise Bourrat, is offering a new menu this fall for her “Royal Evenings” at the Laduree restaurant. As a common thread, she chose leaves. “Because we know them as vegetables or herbs, but the diversity of leaves in cooking goes well beyond,” says Louise Bourrat for whom the theme emerged “very organically”.

Leaves of fig tree, cherry tree, eucalyptus, lovage, sage, shiso, oxalis, nasturtium, marigold or even vine are some of the fragrant and surprising notes that we discover through this new proposition, autumnal menu in five courses (with turbot as main course), supposed to combine, for 85 euros, “elegance, balance, freshness and extreme indulgence”, according to Maison Ladurée. The spring one served at the same place delighted us.

Until October 27. 16 Rue Royale (Paris 8th)

Inside Japanese houses

Here, in Japan, is a gallery of homes where it is not just a question of architecture. From “Sky” house to “Staircase” house, from “Silver Hut” to “Rain/Sun” house, we can read eighty years of the history of a country which, so many times, was the challenge of rebuilding oneself.

The Marseille publisher Parentheses lifts the veil on The Japanese house after the Second World War, where glass, metal and concrete complement wood. Space and legal constraints have pushed architects to sometimes experiment with extreme solutions. The result is this confusing, but inspiring style, where it is only a question of physical balance between materials and harmony, entirely spiritual, with nature.
