Over the past 30 years, Stefan Cohrs has looked for and furnished 20,000 locations for Aktenzeichen XY around Munich. In an interview, he talks about the special responsibility of his job and reveals how the Allianz Arena is turned into an airport.

There is hardly anyone who has not yet seen the work of Stefan Cohrs – without knowing it, of course. Because the 58-year-old is responsible for the filming locations of “Aktenzeichen XY … unsolved” as a motif finder and interior decorator. For almost 30 years he has been proposing where the aired cases are filmed and deciding what interiors for the short films look like. Almost all of the locations have one thing in common: regardless of whether the crime was committed in Berlin or Hamburg, it is filmed at locations in the Munich area. Because the responsible production company, Securitel, for which Cohrs from Fürstenfeldbruck works, is based in Ismaning.
