Two Russian regions, bordering Ukraine, and Crimea annexed by Moscow were targeted Wednesday morning and overnight by Ukrainian strikes, Russian authorities indicated, the day after a massive bombardment of Kiev by Russia. Russian regional officials reported limited damage, ensuring that all Ukrainian missiles had been shot down.
Like Tuesday during the day, the city of Belgorod and its eponymous region were targeted during the night. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, six projectiles were shot down by anti-aircraft defense. According to Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, no new victims have been recorded.
Further north, the region of Kursk, also bordering Ukraine, was targeted by “an air attack,” regional governor Roman Starovoit said Wednesday morning on Telegram. Electrical infrastructure and pipes were affected, depriving homes in several villages of power or heating, according to the same source.
Finally, a missile was shot down off the coast of Sevastopolsaid the governor of this city in Crimea, a Ukrainian peninsula annexed by Russia in 2014.
