The chairmen of the traffic light factions in the Bundestag have invited the leaders of the agricultural associations to a discussion next Monday. It should be about economic prospects for agricultural businesses. Police expect up to 3,000 tractors in Hanover
The rally in Hanover is scheduled to start around 11:30 a.m. Many farmers have already arrived in the city with their tractors. There is a long queue along the Maschsee, for example. The police corrected their estimate – and are currently expecting up to 3,000 tractors to be on the road in the city today. It is currently full on the B6: many tractors from Nienburg, Verden and Diepholz are on their way to the Garbsen collection point. More than 1,000 tractors want to make their way to the state parliament from there.

Farmers and fishermen stand shoulder to shoulder and protest together in the north (Aurich district). The fishermen were promised around 700 million euros – money that is now needed for agricultural diesel. And yet: “We are not the peasant victims. We continue to stick together with the farmers and pull together,” said fisherman Rolf Groenewold.

Traffic is backed up on the B6 and B65 towards Hanover
The first farmers with their tractors have arrived in downtown Hanover. According to the police, 120 smugglers were traveling on the B3 to Hanover in the morning. They had left the federal highway to join another convoy in Altwarmbüchen. There is currently a traffic jam on the B6 between Neustadt-Otternhagen and Berenbostel on the way to the state capital. This is also the case on the B65 – between Nordgoltern and Ronnenberg and between Ahlten/Höver and Brabeckstraße. The police are expecting up to a thousand tractors in Hanover today.

Farmers’ protest also in Hamburg planned
In the Northeim district, farmers gathered around 4 a.m. to drive together to Hanover. A convoy of around 80 tractors drove overland at around 30 km/h to the meeting point in Gehrden (Hannover region). Along the way, other farmers joined in with their tractors. The convoy was about three to four kilometers long. The mood among farmers was good and confident. There are demonstrations again today not only in Hanover, but also in Hamburg. 250 tractors from Buxtehude-Neukloster (Stade district) were registered for a trip to Hamburg.

Farmers want to talk to people at the weekly market
Farmers want to gather with their tractors in Glandorf (Osnabrück district) in the afternoon. They want to park there on a large roundabout and the surrounding federal highways 51 and 475, as the rural people of Osnabrück announced. Around 30 kilometers further, in Belm (Osnabrück district), farmers want to talk to consumers at a shopping and weekly market.

Federal highway in Wittmund partially closed
In Wittmund, around 15 farmers are blocking a roundabout on the B461 with their tractors. The police expect that there could be even more over the course of the day: According to information from the organizers, around 200 agricultural vehicles have been registered for the protest, according to the police. The federal highway is therefore partially closed.

Farmers block motorway entrances in Ammerland
In Westerstede in Ammerland, around 60 farmers have blocked the access roads to the A28. Farmers are also standing around a roundabout on the B461. In Papenburg (Emsland district), tractors are blocking the access to the Meyer shipyard. And near Hemmoor (Cuxhaven district), around 20 tractors also cause traffic problems.

Farmers from the Heidekreis also want to go to Hanover
There are also three starting points for smuggler convoys to Hanover in the Heidekeis. Farmers in Kirchboitzen and Dorfmark set off at 6 a.m., and farmers in Norddrebber want to start at 7:30 a.m. According to the Farmers’ Association of Northeast Lower Saxony, there should also be convoys in the districts of Uelzen, Lüneburg and Lüchow-Dannenberg – but rather spontaneously, it was said. Farmers protests: rally in Hanover should start at noon
The rural people of Lower Saxony have announced numerous rallies to Hanover. The police expect hundreds of vehicles. Between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. the tractor convoys should form in Sehnde, Garbsen, Wedemark and Gehrden (all in the Hanover region). Road users must prepare for greater restrictions in road traffic. Those affected include: B6the B65 and the L190. A large rally is planned at around 11:30 a.m. on the Göttingen Seven square in front of the Lower Saxony state parliament. Politicians from the Bundestag were also invited, including the chairman of the FDP parliamentary group Christian Dürr, the deputy SPD chairman Matthias Miersch and Green Party politician Swantje Michaelsen.
