FC Bayern Munich is committed to Real Madrid. Disagreements between Hoeneß and Tuchel shouldn’t play a role. There is an appeal from Eberl.

The FC Bayern Munich does not want to let the dispute between Thomas Tuchel and Uli Hoeneß stop them on their way to the Champions League final.

That does “nothing” for the team, said sports director Max Eberl about the friction between honorary president Hoeneß and coach Tuchel. Everyone would have to “tighten up”, everyone would now have to “burn”. In the semi-final first leg of the Champions League against Real Madrid on Tuesday, the Munich team want to develop a good starting position.

“I think we definitely have a chance,” said Eberl after Munich’s 2-1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt thanks to a brace from striker Harry Kane. No matter what is between Hoeneß and Tuchel. “The team has shown that it doesn’t affect them. The coach has shown that it doesn’t affect them and it doesn’t affect us either. We’ll go through it and still achieve the best possible results,” said Eberl.

Tuchel feels his “coaching honor” has been violated

Bayern patron Hoeneß criticized Tuchel’s work in developing young players during a public appearance. Tuchel feels his “coaching honor” has been violated and the “accusations” are “miles” away from reality.

“There are ten incredibly important days for all of us. There is no worse time for any sideshows. It’s all about Real Madrid, VfB Stuttgart and Real Madrid,” said Tuchel.

“Blablabla saying “Fifty-Fifty””

Eberl assumes that the “two men”, Hoeneß and Tuchel, “get together and then focus everything,” said Eberl. They want to design the upcoming great games in the best possible way. “Two men will discuss this with each other and then the matter will be settled.”

After the first leg on Tuesday in the Allianz Arena, the decision about the final will be made eight days later in Madrid – with good chances. “I don’t want to say the blah blah blah ‘Fifty-Fifty’, but I would say ‘Fifty-Fifty’,” said Eberl.
