LIVE – Germany-France: Les Bleues under pressure, Peyraud-Magnin on parade

GOOOOOOO! TOOOOOOOOR!

POPP SCORES FOR HIS FIFTH CONSECUTIVE MATCH! GERMANY OPENS THE SCORE AND IT SEEMS LOGICAL.

Germany does not drop the ball

It’s complicated for the French women to develop their game as usual against a perfectly organized team which is starting to suffocate them, pressing higher and higher. Raises seem increasingly risky.

Distant free kick for the Blue

The French combine with Périsset, who sends a long ball towards the penalty area… which Wendie Renard fails to take advantage of.

Magull found in the surface

The German collapses almost immediately in the penalty area, with Wendie Renard behind her … a gesture quite clearly exaggerated. The referee does not let himself be caught and lets the game continue.

Rauch takes the free kick

The left side quite clearly misses his attempt, which flies over the crossbar.

german corner

Hegering receives the ball at the far post. His shot is blocked, but the Germans are the first on the second ball… and cause another fault, by Malard.

THE PEYRAUD-MAGNIN PARADE!

The free kick is hit hard by Popp… and pierces the wall of Les Bleues. Fortunately for France, Peyraud-Magnin relaxes and takes the ball out at the last moment.

Toletti warned

Full axis, Jule Brand starts in his dribbles and completely surprises the block of the Blue. Toletti eventually hooks his opponent’s leg and receives a yellow card.

Offset free kick for the Mannschaft

Magull tries the direct strike on this set piece at the edge of the penalty area. Peyraud-Magnin does not tremble and captures the ball, in one go.

Popp launches Magull

After a big recovery on Diani, Hegering plays with Popp, who manages to hold onto the ball and play deep for Magull. Peyraud-Magnin must come out of his cage to intervene in the distance, by tackling the ball in touch.

Corner for Germany

Peyraud-Magnin intervenes with authority in the air and returns the ball with his fists. Les Bleues are close to being able to go on the counter-attack… But the Mannschaft defend well and recover the ball.

We look at each other, we observe each other

The Germans keep the ball quietly, while the French do not yet dare to start the pressing… and finally recover the ball after a bad pass which goes straight into touch.

Corner obtained by Diani

The France winger takes advantage of a long ball, which seemed too deep, to obtain a corner while playing Rauch. The Germans are struggling a little to get free but are doing quite well in the end.

Distant free kick for Germany

Däbritz sends a long cross to the Blue penalty area… It’s cleared by Wendie Renard with a header.

The kick is given !

Melvine Malard launches hostilities… and the French send the ball out of goal. Les Bleues are 90 minutes from their first Euro final. Can they overthrow the solid German team, which has still not conceded a single goal since the start of the competition?

It’s time for the Marseillaise

The French anthem resounds in Milton Keynes before the Deutschlandlied. Kick-off is coming!

Grace Geyoro announces a “very determined” group

At the microphone of TF1, the midfielder announced the color for this semi-final: “The group is very determined. We have prepared well. We can’t wait for the match to start. It’s going to be a fight tonight. They are two very beautiful nations.”

To face the English in the final

Last night, in the other semi-final of this Euro, the English crushed Sweden 4-0 and confirmed their status as favorites at home. Whether for Germany or France, there will be a lot to do to win at Wembley.

The Mannschaft wants to regain its title

With eight victories in twelve editions of the Women’s Football Euro, Germany has long reigned over continental football. The Germans notably won six consecutive competitions, from 1995 to 2013 … before losing in the quarter-finals in 2017 against Denmark. The Danes then lost to the Netherlands in the final.

Let’s go for the warm-up

The stadium in Milton Keynes slowly fills up as kick-off approaches as both teams prepare.

Conditions are not ideal

Real English weather is shaping up for tonight’s game. Overall, it is not really hot (around 17°C) and there could be some showers during the meeting.

An absence of a mark on the German side

Tested positive for Covid yesterday, Klara Bühl is logically absent for this semi-final. A big blow for the Nationalmannschaft, since the winger is the player who has created the most chances since the start of the Euro.

Les Bleues with the same starting lineup as against the Netherlands

Corinne Deacon has decided to trust the same players who started the quarter-final against the Netherlands, this Wednesday evening against Germany.

In goal, we find Pauline Peyraud-Magnin while in defense, Eve Périsset, Griedge Mbock, Wendie Renard (C) and Sakina Karchaoui will have the heavy burden of containing the German assaults. In the midfield, Charlotte Bilbault, Sandie Toletti and Grace Geyoro are also renewed, as are the three tricolor offensive players, namely Kadidiatou Diani, Melvine Malard and Delphine Cascarino.

The XI against Germany: Peyraud-Magnin – Périsset, Mbock, Renard, Karchaoui – Bilbault, Toletti, Geyoro – Diani, Malard, Cascarino

Germany’s XI: Frohms – Gwinn, Hendrich, Hegering, Rauch – Magull, Oberdorf, Däbritz – Huth, Popp, Brand.

Les Bleues have not changed their habits

As on every match day, the players of the France team have not changed their habits in Milton Keynes.

Little walk this morning, followed by a final video session. Siesta this afternoon, last chat with Corinne Deacon and departure for the stadium.

Cascarino, the blue “wafer” to attack Germany

Revelation of the tricolor attack since the start of the Euro, Delphine Cascarino will try to break the German lock this Wednesday. Faced with a defense that has not taken a single goal, the winger of the Blue will play a key role.

The probable line-up of Les Bleues against Germany

Corinne Deacon, coach of the France team, could renew against Germany the same eleven as against the Netherlands in the quarterfinals … unless Selma Bacha makes him review his plans.

The probable composition of the Blue: Peyraud-Magnin – Perisset, Mbock, Renard (c), Karchaoui – Bilbault, Toletti, Geyoro – Cascarino, Diani, Malard (or Bacha)
