“A VERY SAD CHRISTMAS”, ALERT HUNGARIAN DOCTORS

Hungarian doctors have warned of a “very sad Christmas” ahead and called for preventive measures as infections and hospitalizations continue to rise, Reuters reports.

The country reported 10,265 new cases of Covid on Wednesday, its highest daily tally since the end of March, prompting the country’s Medical Chamber to call for a ban on mass events and the mandatory wearing of masks in confined spaces.

In a statement, the Hungarian Medical Chamber also said entry to restaurants, theaters and cinemas should be subject to a Covid immunity certificate.

The country of 10 million people has reported 32,514 deaths from Covid6 & ç since the start of the pandemic but only 5.78 million of its population are fully vaccinated. More than 1.66 million people have received a recall.
