Did a social assistant at a daycare center in southern Lower Saxony force children to eat and go to sleep? A court says: yes. The woman doesn’t want to leave it like that.

A daycare center employee who was convicted because she Accused of forcing children to eat has appealed. This was confirmed by a spokesman for the district court in Duderstadt in southern Lower Saxony on Thursday. The court sentenced the woman to a fine. The Göttingen regional court will now deal with the case. The NDR had previously reported.

The district court had sentenced the social assistant at a daycare center in Duderstadt near Göttingen to a total fine of 4,400 euros in five cases for coercion and deprivation of liberty in one case. The woman was acquitted in another case of coercion.

The public prosecutor accused the woman of using force to force the children to eat and go to sleep. In another case, she locked a child in a cloakroom. The acts reportedly occurred between September 2021 and July 2022.
