The man first broke into the Ammonhof in Dresden, an office building in which the Radio Dresden radio station is based. According to the police, the radio staff were able to get to safety. The perpetrator then moved to the nearby Altmarktgalerie. The mall had to be cleared. According to witnesses, shots were also fired. Around 12 p.m., special police forces were preparing for an operation in front of the Altmarktgalerie. According to information from Radio Dresden, the police were able to quickly contact the hostage-taker.

Dead woman found in Prohlis

A lifeless woman was also found in an apartment building in Dresden-Prohlis in the morning. An emergency doctor who was called could only determine her death. “The suspect is the woman’s 40-year-old son. For reasons of investigation tactics, no further information is currently possible, particularly on the course of the crime or motive,” says the Dresden police department. According to police information, the situation in downtown Dresden is related to this crime.
