A major fire destroyed three boathouses and the boats in them on Lake Kochel on Saturday afternoon. According to the police, no one was injured, but the fire caused property damage in the six-figure range. Since the cause of the fire is still unclear, the Weilheim criminal police have taken over the investigation under the direction of the public prosecutor’s office and are asking witnesses for information.
At around 2 p.m., the integrated control center (ILS) received the report about the fire in the three boathouses on Lake Kochel in the municipality of Schlehdorf. When rescuers arrived, the boathouses were already engulfed in flames. The buildings in which rowing and sailing boats were stored could no longer be saved and were completely destroyed. The permanent criminal service took over the first investigations on site. The further investigations are carried out by the fire investigators of Specialist Commissariat 1 under the direction of the Munich II Public Prosecutor’s Office.
