Dramatic scenes on Thursday in the middle of Munich: A woman runs out of a house with a knife in her hand, she is bleeding – a passer-by calls the police. Several stripes are approaching.

Armed officers in helmets and bulletproof and stab-proof vests enter the building. The 27-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man were initially taken to the hospital with cuts and stab wounds, police said. On Thursday evening, a police spokesman confirmed that the 45-year-old had succumbed to his serious injuries in hospital. First, the “Bild” newspaper reported on the man’s death.

What exactly happened in the building on Sendlinger Strasse in Munich’s pedestrian zone was initially unclear. The police had described the condition of the 45-year-old as critical in the afternoon due to severe stab wounds, and the man died in a clinic in the evening. The 27-year-old, on the other hand, was responsive. A police spokesman did not want to provide any information on Thursday evening for reasons of investigative tactics. The police took over the investigation.

On Thursday afternoon, forensic workers were around the crime scene and marked, among other things, certain spots on the edge of the sidewalk, as eyewitnesses reported. Traces of blood were seen on the sidewalk. The area around the scene of the incident was temporarily cordoned off. Onlookers gathered behind the white and red streamers.
