Filming with Hugh Grant “is horror”

Hugh Grant seems to have lived up to his reputation on the set of the Netflix comedy “Unfrosted.” At least that’s what Jerry Seinfeld reported.
A mere joke between colleagues – or a hidden tip? US superstar Jerry Seinfeld (69), known for his cult sitcom of the same name, appeared on the latest episode of Jimmy Fallon’s (49) “The Tonight Show” to chat about his new film project. He also talked about his British colleague Hugh Grant (63), who also plays a role in Seinfeld’s film “Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story”. According to the comedian, Grant certainly lived up to his reputation as a moody star.
When asked about working together, Seinfeld playfully let it go: “We had a lot of arguments. It’s torture to work with him. He’s terrible.” After all, he was warned by Grant: “He tells you before you work with him: ‘You’re going to hate this.’ And he’s so right.”
Common intoxication ended quarrels
It was only after more than two months on set that the two finally got along better. A boozy dinner served as a catalyst: “We filmed for ten weeks and one day we went out to dinner together – and we got drunk. That was the greatest evening. Because he’s so cool and has that typically English way, He’s so quick-witted.”
The Netflix film is about the true story of the two US breakfast cereal manufacturers Kellogg’s and Post, which fought a bitter battle for market supremacy in the 1960s. In addition to Seinfeld and Grant, numerous other stars appear in the comedy, such as Christian Slater, James Marsden, Amy Schumer, Melissa McCarthy and Bill Burr.
Hugh Grant plays Thurl Ravenscroft, who lent his voice to the iconic advertising character Tony the Tiger. According to Seinfeld, Grant actively auditioned for the role himself: “Suddenly the phone rang.”[Grant] called us and said, ‘I want to be in the Pop-Tart movie.’ So he did an audition on his cell phone – with a glass of wine in the other hand, by the way.”
“Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story” will be available on Netflix starting May 3rd.
