In their investigation on Thursday (local time), Brazilian auditors pointed out discrepancies between Health Ministry documents and Bolsonaro’s vaccination certificate, according to which the ex-president was vaccinated against the coronavirus in São Paulo in July 2022.

The investigation concludes “that this is a fraud of the registration system for vaccinations against Covid-19”. Bolsonaro’s vaccination certificate was “fake”. Last year, Brazil’s federal police said they had uncovered a fraud system in which a Bolsonaro confidant, with the help of a network in the healthcare system and the government, had obtained fake vaccination certificates for, among others, the ex-president and his daughter.

As president, Bolsonaro attracted a lot of criticism for his handling of the corona pandemic.
