Horrible crime in an Italian park!
Catania – A young couple was walking in the Villa Bellini park in the city center of Catania (Sicily) on Tuesday evening – and experienced a real nightmare.
As several Italian media reports, the 13-year-old and her 17-year-old boyfriend were harassed by seven young people around 7:30 p.m. The group forced the couple into a public toilet. There, several of the young people held the 17-year-old while two young men raped the girl – in front of her desperate boyfriend.
As La Repubblica reports, the victim later told police that she had begged the rapists to let her go: “I’m begging you, I’m begging you, don’t hurt me, let me go.”
The 13-year-old said: “First they started touching me, I told them to leave me alone. My friend also told them, I don’t know how many times. Then we tried to run away, but they held us.”
“Corriere della Sera” reports that the girl’s ordeal lasted a good 30 minutes. She and her boyfriend were then able to break away and fled to a nearby street. Passers-by then called the police and the girl was taken to hospital with injuries.
Rapist arrested
The criminals were arrested by the police within a few hours. The girl was able to identify the two underage alleged rapists, police said on Sunday.
However, the girl was unable to identify the other five suspected members of the group as she had not seen their faces and did not want to accuse innocent people. However, the five were identified by the 17-year-old friend.
According to “Corriere della Sera”, the accused are Egyptian citizens who entered Italy illegally as minors.
