Two boaters on the Isar triggered a major operation on Tuesday evening around 9:30 p.m. An eyewitness raised the alarm because two people were seen in the river with a defective rubber boat, the police said on Wednesday. The Reichenbach Bridge was closed to traffic to make room for a rescue operation. A helicopter went up to find the two. A total of eleven patrols were also positioned at other bridges downstream to keep a lookout. Rescue divers were available for this purpose.
As soon as they arrived, the police questioned passers-by. It turned out that it was a man and a child. The two had left the Isar at the Reichenbach Bridge and headed towards Ohlmüllerstrasse. The operation was then ended. It is unclear whether the boat drivers were aware of the operation.
