A drama unfolded at Futuroscope near Poitiers (Vienna). On Monday, a worker fell to his death on one of the construction sites of the famous amusement park. “The accident occurred on the construction site of the Mission Bermuda attraction. The victim fell from a great height onto a construction site hatch,” said the prosecution, which opened an investigation into manslaughter on Wednesday.
The investigation, blatantly opened for involuntary manslaughter in the context of work, was entrusted to the gendarmerie, added the same source, specifying that the Labor Inspectorate had gone to the scene of the accident.
Park teams “in shock”
The circumstances of the accident are still unclear. “The main line of investigation will focus on determining the victim’s working conditions and more generally the securing of the trap,” added the prosecution. According to the daily Press Centerthe worker was a young man in his twenties.
The management of Futuroscope indicated that the amusement park teams were “in shock”, adding that they were “fully mobilized alongside the authorities to shed light on the circumstances of this dramatic accident”.
A year ago, a woman and a teenager were injured in a fire in a carriage at a flagship attraction at the leisure park located near Poitiers.
