Inspired by ZEvent, the Podcasthon brings together 450 podcasters for a good cause

To the association! THE Podcasthon returns this week for a second edition. Last year, this initiative raised 250,000 euros in donations and highlighted no less than 270 associations. Everyone is back and more. Always with the same concept: from 20 Minutes (with the podcast Wait a minute !) to Mathieu Stéfani (DIY generation) or Clementine Galey (Bliss.stories), each of the 450 participating podcasters devotes an episode to the organization of their choice, through an interview, a round table or a report, broadcast between March 25 and 31.

Associations often little publicized

Among the beneficiaries we find established institutions such as the Order of Malta, Unicef, but also Handi’School, Hello We Voilou, Konstelacio… You do not know ? That’s the point. Jérémie Mani, co-founder of this audio and community showcase, explains: “We consider that each podcast is a medium with an audience. And when creators each offer it to an action, it creates a mass effect. » With, on arrival, millions of listens which do not necessarily translate into hard currency, unlike ZeVent, the Twitch event from which the Podcasthon is inspired. After all, the person admits, “the podcast is not the most appropriate channel for giving. We are not in a live format where there can be a sense of urgency. »

“Magnificent episodes”

The strength of spoken audio lies rather, according to him, in “the inspirational.” As each podcaster chooses his association, it often results in magnificent episodes. There is always something left behind. » Having spent at least five minutes on each of the contents published under the banner of this new generation Telethon, Jérémie Mani is convinced that “a large part of the listeners will change their behavior in a positive way. To, why not, become a volunteer, or a donor in a short time? » This is what we call the benefits of listening.
