The building contractor Max Kerscher and his wife Inge acquire historic inns in order to lovingly restore them. She thinks that’s enough. He smiles softly.
“Now I’m not allowed to anymore,” says Max Kerscher. His wife forbade him to renovate any other inns. “Yes, I gave him a ban,” says Inge Kerscher, laughing. “We’ve spent our whole life in the construction industry, that was nice, but at some point there has to be some rest.” Max Kerscher smiles to himself, and you’re not quite sure whether that expresses approval or a certain form of wisdom that says: Let’s see – after all, such a ban can be lifted again.
