According to the authority, the films “Same Same But Different” and “Themba” were shown to students from grade nine onwards. According to the statement, the young people used the information offered by the advice center for pregnancy questions during breaks and before and after the performances.
In addition to classic advice from the district office’s social educators and the distribution of information materials, there was also the opportunity to receive information about anonymous and free advice and HIV testing options from a doctor from the health department. There was also a quiz and a “condom driving license”.
Since the disease emerged in 1981, AIDS has claimed 40 million lives worldwide. District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer welcomed the information day and explained: “Thanks to the great medical advances in treatment, an HIV infection no longer necessarily means a death sentence. However, there is a risk that protection and prophylaxis will be neglected and negligence will occur.”
According to the report, 12,000 people in Bavaria carry the HIV virus, and there are 200 new infections every year. AIDS can still be fatal. In 2021, 70 infected people died in Bavaria. red
