In this refuge, we collect wild animals in captivity or mistreated

At shelter Tonganext to the zoological park of Saint-Martin-la-Plaine (Loire), veterinarians have only one objective: to offer animals a quieter retirement. Located near Lyon, the establishment collects servals, tigers, lions, monkeys and other wild species that have been abused or that were previously held illegally.

Lately, the refuge has mainly recovered servals, the acquisition of which remains prohibited in France, except for professionals. With nearly 350 animals saved since its creation in 2008, the establishment has become a land of rest for these mistreated animals. For 20 minutesthe association therefore allowed us to meet its residents for a morning.
