The family-run group benefits “from high rental car prices and catch-up effects when traveling after the end of the corona restrictions”. After the current best half-year result in the company’s history, he is aiming for a record profit of 480 million euros before taxes this year. According to co-CEO Alexander Sixt, Sixt was able to increase its fleet and meet the high demand in all markets despite the shortage of vehicles on offer from car manufacturers. “People want to travel again without restrictions,” he is quoted as saying. The situation at the airports is very unfortunate. “There could be positive effects here that people refrain from air travel and go on vacation by car.”
So instead of taking a stressful flight to Rome-Fiumicino, you could jet south in a Sixt car, park in the San Pietro garage, and visit the Sistine Chapel. It is named after Pope Sixtus IV (1414 to 1484), not Alexander Sixt. In principle, entry into all Western European countries is permitted with a rental car from the company. For the summer months, high demand can be expected even without original advertising. And what could be nicer for car aficionados than driving down the country road in an open convertible, enjoying the wind and the freedom that comes with it under the hot sun. “Note that a hat or baseball cap can be useful in summer to avoid getting sunburnt on your head,” the company’s website says. You don’t necessarily have to drive far away or to the sea, but can visit a beautiful bathing lake or other interesting destinations in the region with a rental car – such as the village of Sixtnitgern in the Dachau region.
