In Marseille, drug traffickers employ contract killers to settle accounts

With 12 dead since mid-July, the settling of scores between the two rival clans of DZ Mafia and Yoda have taken off again in Marseille.

“Before, when we dismantled a team of killers, we were quiet for a few months, today the situation has changed”. The report drawn up by the police chief of the Bouches du Rhône, Frédérique Camilleri, is based on the feelings of the seasoned investigators of the judicial police and on the terrible reality of the figures: since the beginning of August, 7 people have been killed in shootings, mainly related to drug trafficking. An upsurge in violence which does not go unnoticed and which forces the authorities to redouble their efforts to stem the spiral.

From the end of the week, the CRS8, a company specializing in interventions in difficult urban environments, will again be deployed in Marseille, for the third time since the beginning of the year, announced the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin. At the police headquarters, it is specified that this unit of 200 men will intervene, as on previous occasions, in support of operations…
