In Erquy, the two young people drowned after a festive evening

Two days after the discovery of two bodies in a water reservoir in Erquy, the investigation turned towards an accidental drowning after the two victims consumed alcohol and drugs. This Wednesday, April 17, in a press release, Nicolas Heitz, public prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc, returns to the circumstances of this tragedy which allegedly took place on the night of Saturday, April 13 to Sunday, April 14 at a place called Ville ès Mare, near an artificial pond used to irrigate a market garden.

According to the first elements of the investigation, entrusted to the research brigade of the Saint-Brieuc gendarmerie company, the two victims, Estelle Faucillon, aged 30, Khristopher Samson, a friend aged 25, would have passed the evening in the company of an acquaintance. During this, the trio would have gone to a barbecue in Planguenoual (22), then returned to the caravan where Estelle Faucillon who worked on this farm was staying.

Alcohol and drugs

Together, they allegedly consumed alcohol and drugs, including Ketamine belonging to the deceased young man. The witness preferred not to sleep in the caravan with his two friends, but in his car because he was working the next day and also “taking into account the state of excitement of his two friends”, specifies the prosecutor of the Republic. So, Sunday morning, he would have collected his things without seeing Estelle Faucillon and Khristopher Samson and without worrying about it.

It was Monday April 15 that the alert was given when the young woman’s employer, worried about not seeing her, warned her parents.

Autopsies this Friday April 19

It was during the searches carried out by the farmer and the latter’s parents that the two bodies were found, floating on the surface of the artificial pond. A pool with a depth of 1.17 m and covered with a slippery tarpaulin on the bottom. Searches, particularly in the caravan, will be carried out this Wednesday April 17. Autopsies, as well as toxicological analyses, will be carried out on Friday April 19 at the Rennes forensic institute. They should make it possible to confirm these first elements.
