The German national ice hockey team completed the preparation phase for the World Cup in the Czech Republic with a successful dress rehearsal. The vice world champion won in Weißwasser against France 4:3 (1:0, 2:2, 0:1) after extra time.

For the first time, national coach Harold Kreis was able to use five Berlin champion players and North American professional Maksymilian Szuber. In a shaky preparation, the DEB selection only had three wins in eight games.
On Friday (4:20 p.m./ProSieben and MagentaSport) the DEB selection starts the World Cup with the game against Slovakia.
