“I was disappointed by the general betrayal”, confides Helena, eliminated at the last council

The sentence was irrevocable for Helena. The 27-year-old Belgian physiotherapist was eliminated by the adventurers of “Koh-Lanta, the sacred fire” during the council of the last episode broadcast Tuesday on TF1. Several months after the shooting, she is not angry at having been betrayed by those who claimed to vote “on merit”.

You were very surprised at your elimination…

I clearly wasn’t expecting that. I was disappointed by what for me is a general betrayal. Everyone said it was the “Koh-Lanta” of merit but, if we follow this logic, it was not up to me to go out. I have always voted more on merit than affinity. I would never have eliminated someone “strong” to be able to win events. For me, if you are good at the tests and you are active on the camp, you do not deserve to leave.

Which vote against you surprised you the most?

I thought Tania was going out because Gilles, Laura and Nicolas had to vote against her. It is therefore the vote of these three against me that surprised me the most unpleasantly. In my opinion, they wanted to do a big hit because they thought I would be formidable in the test of the poles.

It’s rather flattering to be eliminated because we do ” fear ” others, right?

It’s flattering, but it really disappointed me because I don’t have that mentality at all. I would never have voted against Clémence, for example. She is a super performer and clearly has her place in the game. It revealed everyone’s mentality: there are those who want to compete with the “strong” and those who want to eliminate them to get ahead of them.

Your name was mentioned from the first day of the adventure, because some thought you were too interventionist…

People were wrong about me and changed their voting intention themselves at the time. I was completely unaware that they wanted to eliminate me. They must have said to themselves that it was not because I had launched one or two sentences a little loudly that they had to do without me. What’s hard is going from zero votes on councils to suddenly, boom, everyone against me. Getting machine-gunned in one shot is complicated.

You didn’t suspect anything of the “Power 4” alliance between Quentin, Gilles, Frédéric and Nicolas?

They hid their game well. I knew that Quentin and Frédéric were close together, but I thought they were with Clémence and me. I guess they liked to play double game and maintain both fronts. Me, when someone like Gilles says to me: “I’m with you”, I believe him. Maybe I’m a little too naive. Why give me information if it is false? If you’re not with me, don’t say it. I also had trouble with the fact that Laura agreed with Clémence and me and then changed her mind after talking to Nicolas.

How do you view your adventure?

I am really happy. I have a lot of positive feedback from people who tell me they see that I give 100% to sporting events. I never really weakened or made a big poor performance.

If you had the chance, what would you do differently?

I would deny my values a little and I would be a little more deceitful. I would be more of a strategist. I wouldn’t trust anyone. I will not hesitate to say from left to right “I am with you” to have the most people in my pocket. It’s just that, in everyday life, I’m not like that.
