Heated terraces, RSA and “fuel discount”… Everything that changes on April 1

Who says 1st of the month, says change. Like every beginning of the month, new government measures or laws come into effect from this Friday, April 1. From measures which should concern a large part of the population. 20 minutes make the point.

This is the flagship measure for this month of April and it should last for four months: a discount of 15 to 18 euro cents will be applied for each liter of any fuel. The amount will vary according to the VAT applied in the different French territories. All French people are concerned, including professionals.

Another major measure in favor of purchasing power: the revaluation of the RSA. The active solidarity income paid by the Family Allowance Fund (CAF) to people aged at least 25 without resources increases by 15.78 euros per month and therefore goes to 575.52 euros for a single person without children. . This increase applies to all household categories. A couple with one dependent child thus receives 1,035.94 euros, and a single person with two dependent children, 863.28 euros.

The activity bonus will also be revised upwards. Paid to people exercising a professional activity or receiving unemployment, but having modest resources, this aid created in 2016 will increase by 1.8%. The lump sum for a single person thus increases to 563.68 euros per month and to 845.22 euros for a person with a dependent child.

Good news for those who wanted to replace a gas or oil boiler. MaPrimeRénov’ increases by 1,000 euros for any change of heating system to a renewable system. This boost is valid for all aid application files submitted from April 15 until December 31, 2022.

Smokers will get cold. From now on, cafes, restaurants, brasseries and any other brand with a terrace are prohibited from heating them. The measure had been postponed for a year due to the disastrous consequences of the Covid-19 epidemic for the sector.

Last novelty and not the least for those who are tired of cold calling: from now on, canvassers in the insurance sector have the obligation to ask for your explicit agreement to continue the conversation at the start of the call.
