The first trailer for the Netflix series about Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan is here – and offers intimate insights into the private life of the Sussexes.

The Netflix documentary series by and with Prince Harry (38) and Duchess Meghan (41) has been eagerly awaited for a long time. The show, which has so far been shrouded in mystery, is intended to tell the love story of the royal couple as well as their dramatic departure from the British royal family. The streaming service Netflix has now unveiled the official title of the documentary series. It reads “Harry & Meghan”. A first trailer also offers intimate and very personal insights into the life of the couple.

“Harry & Meghan” shows never-before-seen footage

The trailer for “Harry & Meghan”, mostly in black and white, shows many never-before-seen shots of the Sussexes’ private life. Meghan apparently captured some intimate moments with selfies. Then again, the trailer contains recordings that seem to have been taken during the then young couple’s trip to Botswana in 2016. Harry and Meghan can also be seen dancing at their wedding, and Prince Harry’s wife is in a very private photo with her baby bump clearly visible by a lake.

Prince Harry: “No one knows what goes on behind closed doors.”

An off-screen voice asks the two protagonists at the beginning of the video, “Why do you want to make this documentary?” to which Harry seems to reply later in the clip, “Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors”. Meanwhile, his wife holds her hand in front of her face and may be crying.

The Duke of Sussex later explains, “I had to protect my family,” and Meghan defiantly asked at the end of the one-minute video, “When there’s so much at stake, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our version?”.

There is currently no official start date for the eagerly awaited Netflix documentary series. At the end of the trailer it only says: “‘Harry & Meghan’. Coming soon”. The documentary series will have six episodes and is directed by twice Oscar-nominated filmmaker Liz Garbus (52).
