Because of evidence of a shooting spree, there were particularly strict police checks before the trial surrounding the death of student Hanna W. at the Traunstein regional court. “We have everything under control, we have done everything,” said presiding judge Jacqueline Aßbichler in the packed courtroom on Friday before the start of the hearing.
Anyone who wants to leave the room for this reason can do so. As a precaution, the curtains in the courtroom were drawn to prevent any view from outside.
The public prosecutor’s plea then began in the trial. The young woman celebrated on the night of October 3, 2022 in the “Eiskeller” club in Aschau im Chiemgau and headed home early in the morning – the 23-year-old never got there. Hours later she was discovered dead in the Prien River.
The public prosecutor’s office assumes that the now 22-year-old defendant attacked Hanna W. on her way home for sexual reasons, hit her on the head and threw her injured into the Bärbach, which flows into the Prien. According to an autopsy, the student drowned.
