Hachinger Tal – microclimate report is available – district of Munich

Important decisions have to be made for the future of the fresh air corridor near Neubiberg, Unterhaching and the neighboring districts of Munich. The long-awaited Hachinger Tal microclimate-ecological report is available as a draft and will be presented to those affected and involved at an online conference of the Munich planning department on Wednesday evening. The citizens’ initiative “Fresh air supply for Munich” and representatives of the municipalities of Neubiberg and Unterhaching have been invited to the conference. The report is intended to provide information on how the functionality of air exchange paths can be impaired by individual construction projects, the city had commissioned it.

Among other things, it is relevant to the question of a possible settlement of businesses on the chapel field between Unterhaching and the Neubiberg district of Unterbiberg. Neubiberg’s Mayor Thomas Pardeller (CSU) had repeatedly emphasized that he wanted to wait for the report before making a final decision. The citizens’ initiative demands that the fresh air corridor should be kept free from further development. In the meantime, she welcomes an idea that the municipality of Neubiberg had already developed in advance: to extend the planned Trudering-Neuperlach park mile via the Hachinger Tal green belt and the associated chapel field to the Perlacher forest. “This could result in a great, exemplary local recreation area for people in the neighboring districts and communities,” says spokesman Thomas Kiesmüller. It is now up to the Munich City Council to further develop and implement this idea with the municipality of Neubiberg and other stakeholders and thus ensure the fresh air supply for Munich. He sees the greatest challenge in the negotiations with the property owners.
