Haar – Böltl confirmed as a CSU direct candidate – district of Munich

The CSU in the district of Munich will be running in the state elections in autumn 2023 in the constituency Munich-Land Nord with the mayor of Kirchheim, Maximilian Böltl. At the delegates’ meeting on Friday evening in the society building of the KBO Isar-Amper-Klinikum in Haar, the 39-year-old was chosen with almost 99 percent of the votes for the candidate of the Christian Social Party and is thus following in the footsteps of the still incumbent member of the state parliament, Ernst Weidenbusch, who already declared in April had not wanted to run again. The 59-year-old lawyer from Haar has been sitting in the Maximilianeum since 2003 – always as a directly elected member of parliament.

Böltl, who has been the head of the town hall in Kirchheim since 2014, said in his introductory speech that he was convinced that the way in which a mayor works is needed right now in the Maximilianeum. “Take care that people are doing well,” is how he understands the most fundamental task of a parliamentarian. As mayor, he wants to meet people at eye level, listen, keep what he promises and be there for everyone, says Böltl. And he listed what he wants to contribute in terms of content: strengthening the location, expanding the infrastructure, securing prospects, keeping life affordable, protecting the environment and generating energy himself. The delegates in Haar thanked Böltl with 95 votes in favor and only one against and chose him as the direct candidate. And the man he wants to inherit also gave him advance praise: “There can actually be no doubt that he is the right candidate,” said Ernst Weidenbusch.
