A total of almost 100 stars for excellent cuisine go to Bavaria: The gastronomy guide Guide Michelin has honored 79 restaurants in the Free State for their services – including two three-star, 14 two-star and 63 one-star restaurants. There are also 29 Green Stars for particularly sustainable kitchens.
Of the 32 restaurants that were decorated with a star for the first time at the gala on Tuesday evening, more than a third, eleven in fact, are in Bavaria. There are also three new two-star restaurants nationwide, including two Bavarian establishments. Germany also has a new three-star chef: Edip Sigl is head chef at the “Es:senz” restaurant in Grassau, Upper Bavaria.
