Google Pixel 8 Pro plus fitness tracker – a sporty deal?

The Google Pixel 8 Pro smartphone is available until April 10th for just one euro in conjunction with a Vodafone mobile phone contract. The fitness tracker FitBit Charge 6 is also available for free. Is the offer worth it?

Google’s Pixel 8 series smartphones are currently among the most popular Android models, but buyers also have to dig deep into their pockets for the devices. With a memory of 128 gigabytes (GB), the Google Pixel 8 Pro currently costs around 1,099 euros in the Google Store. Even if there are already cheaper offers on the market, Vodafone’s offer is definitely worth a look. We took a closer look at it.

Smartphone and fitness tracker for one euro

In conjunction with the GigaMobil M or XL tariff, Vodafone currently offers the Google Pixel 8 Pro for one euro. The Google Pixel 8 is also available for one euro in some tariffs, including the GigaMobil S, M, Young S, Young M, Young L tariffs. Vodafone is adding the Fitbit Charge 6 for free until April 10th. The fitness tracker has functions such as precise heart rate measurement, daily fitness and sleep index as well as training tracking, YouTube music control and route guidance using Google Maps.

The details of the tariff at a glance:

  • Flat rate: Telephony and SMS
  • Data volume: 50GB
  • One-off price for the Google Pixel 8 Pro: one euro
  • Monthly basic fee: 79.99 instead of 89.99 euros
  • Connection price: zero instead of 39.99 euros

Price check: How good is the deal really?

We did the math: For the Google Pixel 8 Pro in conjunction with the GigaMobil M tariff, costs amount to 1,920.76 euros plus shipping costs over the 24-month contract period. The cheapest price online for the Pixel 8 Pro is currently 749 euros, while the Fitbit Charge 6 in the obsidian look currently costs at least 119.61 euros. If the device prices are deducted from the basic fee, an effective monthly rate of 44.13 euros remains.

The GigaMobil M tariff without a cell phone for currently 39.99 euros includes a double data volume of 50 gigabytes as well as a telephone and SMS flat rate. The basic fee is only slightly more expensive and covers many times the total value of the devices.

In order to get the fitness tracker for free, you must register on the promotion page by April 24th, when the contract has been concluded and the new cell phone has arrived.

Good alternative offer? Google Pixel 8 Pro in the Telekom network at Freenet

The Google Pixel 8 Pro with a storage of 128 gigabytes is also available cheaper with a contract on Freenet. However, the one-off price is higher for a corresponding tariff – but the basic fee is lower. The total costs here are 1,437.74 euros. However, with this option there is only 40 instead of 50 gigabytes of data volume, and the whole thing only with LTE, not with 5G like Vodafone. A fitness tracker is also not included here. Nevertheless, this is also a good way to get the Google Pixel 8 Pro cheaply.

The details at a glance:

  • Data volume: 40GB
  • Network: Telecom
  • One-time price for the Google Pixel 8 Pro: 149.99 euros
  • Monthly basic fee: 51.99 euros
